When a woman gets pregnant, it is with a man. I hope everyone knew this. So, why, in our society, are men cut off from the baby after that point? Why does it simply become Mom's baby instead of OUR baby?
Most fathers would love to be a part of their baby's first few years but it seems that from the time that the woman finds out she's pregnant to the time that the child is two, men aren't super involved. I am pretty sure as well that women would love to have their husbands helping out with the child. This whole thing is a large misunderstanding.
To get your husband to feel like he is NOT losing his wife to your 20 in, 7lb attention grabber, include him in the little things. Let him feed the baby with a bottle every now and again. Let him change diapers. Talk to him about the things that happened and about his day as well. Hug him and give him little kisses. Nothing frisky has to go on but he does need support and love. He can also help at night with the feedings. I know he has work in the morning, but he would probably love the feeling like he's a part of something. You have to get up anyway, why not do it together? He can change the diaper and soothe, and you can use your Momma parts to feed and then burp the baby. Its a wonderful thing to help and love each other. I can assure you that this will really help you in your marriage and have a more united family for your baby.
